Christchurch Football Club
Set on the edge of the New Forest in rural surroundings the club enjoys good access to Bournemouth Airport (5 mins) and the major road networks to Christchurch (12 mins) and Bournemouth (15 mins).
Christchurch Football Club now has 15 teams under its umbrella operating at all levels up to the Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier Division. In 2 of the last 3 seasons Christchurch Football Club has won the leagues 'Fair Play' award, currently being the holders. This season under the guidance of the Chairman, Mr Peter Rolph, coupled with the enthusiasum and knowledge of the team manager, Graham Kemp, the club is hoping to see a little more silverware coming our way in the future.
Christchurch Football Club is the envy of many local clubs. The club facilities,
the location, the excellent well maintained playing surface
at Hurn Bridge and the superb floodlights that have been upgraded to almost 300 lux (one of the
brightest readings outside the Premiership and Football League) set a standard that other clubs
find difficult to compete with.
Christchurch Football Club is one of the few clubs at this level that still retains amateur status. Despite competition from neighbouring clubs, the club succeeds in attracting a loyal band of players who enjoy their football at Hurn Bridge and the amenities of the Sports Club.
We have a strong youth section at Christchurch Football Club and provide a truly community based club for all ages in the Christchurch area, including girls and ladies. The development of the youth section reflects our committment to this important area at the grass roots of the sport. In the 2007/2008 season we will be running 3 under 18 sides which again reinforces the club's ongoing commitment to youth development and the future of the club. The club currently has 9 youth teams playing in leagues from the age of 6 upwards and a thriving ladies team in the county league.
In May 2007 Graham Kemp was appointed First Team Manager with Chris Hart as Assistant Manager and Paul "Chalky" White as First Team Coach. Tony Brown remains on the management team and Mick Ryan remains our Director of Football.
With Graham as Manager we are looking forward to making great progress on the playing side and the committee continue to work hard behind the scenes to improve the financial structure of the club and progress the dressing room complex project.
